I don't talk trash; I talk smack. They're totally different. Trash talk is all hypothetical like 'Your Mama's so fat she could eat the internet' but smack talk is happening like right now, like you're ugly and I know it for a fact cause I got the evidence right there. -Kelly Kapoor

Tumblr I need your help. So I’ve pretty much ruled out joining a gym, there is not one decently priced gym in my area and if its not near me I know I won’t go. I also know that since its only going to get colder, running outside is not going to happen either. So I’m left with at home workouts. I hear you guys talking about Jillian Michael’s workouts. Since I’m not the most athletic are they doable for a less experienced person? Which one do you suggest? Do you need equipment? Or a lot of space to do it in?

I am the least athletic person alive and I can get through it (although every inch of my body hurts the next day)  You don’t need a lot of room, Alex and I have both been doing it in my crowded living room.  Google 30 day shred results pictures, it will make you want to start immediately.  Works your legs and arms like crazy, ab workout is a little lacking in my opinion.

  2. growingupindie said: you dont need a lot of space or equipment. I also like tracy anderson’s stuff. when my gym membership expires i think i will quit (so freaking expensive) and just work out at home & a yoga studio
  3. cptnjac said: Oh my gosh they are so easy no matter your fitness level. And all you need are hand-weights. (Honestly, when I’m feeling weak/lazy I just use big soup cans. Embarrassing, I know.)
  4. queenbeecourt said: This would be perfect! Do not need a lot of space. Just free weights (3lbs to start) and a mat (if working out on a hard surface). Her work out is intense!!! Good luck!
  5. melissabea said: been debating trying this too!!
  6. useyourindoorvoice said: I did 30 day shred before my wedding. It’s awesome but after the first couple times doing it I had to mute the TV and blast music because I honestly couldn’t listen to Jillian’s voice anymore.
  7. cleverlikewhoa said: I like Jillian. I did it in our tiny bedroom in our old apartment. Easy to follow but a good asskicking.
  8. tamsgot said: The only thing with this, you have to really do it regularly. Once you get used to the moves, it might help to mute her and play your own music so you don’t get bored. When I was doing it, I saw results within 2 weeks. Good Luck!!

  10. myheartgoespitterpatter said: the shred is great, all you need is weights and a mat and it can be done in a small space. it hurts at first (i think the soreness went away after three or four times), but it’s a great workout. jillian’s yoga and kettlebell routines are also good.
  11. luciwithani said: only need weights 3-5 lbs, and not too much space. you will do jumping jacks and running in place.
  12. littlecageofmine said: i hate that bitch. haha. i have the 30 day shred and it’s HARD. i also find it gets a bit repetitive. i like her yoga meltdown one much better. for the 30 day shred, you only need weights. only enough space for a jumping jack is needed.
  13. cassieirwin said: 30 Day Shred is a good one to start with I think. You really just need some hand weights and a mat for ab work. I have a few JM videos I like, but I’d start with 30 Day Shred.
  14. pspil said: Have you ever tried zumba? I heard it’s fun, but I wouldn’t know because I’m too lazy to work out.
  15. simplybeverly said: i have the 30 day shred and its a great workout, as long as you stick with it. you’ll need some free weights, i use 5 lb ones. good luck with whatever you choose!
